Ch.
Conant's Brenna CDX, CGC Brenna was beautiful, bright, full of life and utterly devoted to me. Some of her favorite things were our old cat Annie and purple cabbage and would jump without warning straight into the arms of anyone she considered an old friend, just a bit disconcerting to say the least. In
three years of showing in obedience, Brenna was a brilliant obedience
performer. When she passed she usually won her class, and, about half
the time, High in Trial. She was Hawaii's top obedience dog in 1996, and
was started in tracking, herding and agility. When she didn't pass an
obedience class, she could be counted on to turn in the most entertaining
performance of the day. Her first time out in Utility, the judge directed
us to Glove 2. She raced by the gloves, out of the ring about 30 feet,
and made a giant arc, grabbing the wrong glove on the way back. As she
returned, she "killed" the glove, including throwing it in to
the air and catching it. Finally she came to front, where she sat growling,
barking and mouthing the glove until I could get the damn thing away from
her. The judge loved it as much as the audience. Each time she stepped
into the ring, it was like opening night on Broadway for her. Brenna embodied
the ideal of "utmost willingness and enjoyment" more than any
dog I've known. |
