My friend Janet Lewis gave me Dot in the summer of 2001. Janet bought Dot as a trained herding dog in the hope that working a trained dog would help her learn herding. Unfortunately, Dot just didn't fit in to Janet's pack, so when I arrived for a visit, and admired her, Janet offered her to me. Dot had done well in the novice class at Border Collie trials, but she doesn't like to drive, so her owner sold her back to her original trainer, Cheryl Jagger-Williams, who then sold her to Janet. So Dot has had a bit more change in her life than a soft, nervous dog should, but she has settled in to life in Paradise just fine. Janet brought her to me in St. Louis in October of 2001 on a Monday night. I trialled her the next three days in the Herding Started Class, and we qualified each time. She still doesn't like to drive, but we're working on it. She was bred to Linda Baron's dog Eagle (Luzian Eagle HI, AX, OJW, TDX STD, AHBA HTD III), and produced just one pup, Conant's SpotDotCom (aka Robin), who lives with Cathy Sitar, owner of a couple of other Conant's BCs.
